As a child, Marcel Wanders loved making gifts. Today, he designs for the world, creating meaningful and inspiring works. His mission, conceived as a student, is to create an environment of love, live with passion, and make dreams come true. Wanders rose to fame after graduating with honors from the Arnhem School of the Arts. His breakthrough came in 1993 with Droog’s first Milan exhibition, followed by his iconic Knotted Chair in 1996. Based in Amsterdam, he founded the high-end design label Moooi in 2000 with Casper Vissers. As Moooi’s art director, he continues to push creative boundaries.
Renowned for his avant-garde approach, Wanders blends innovation, technology, and a touch of humor. His work is celebrated in museums worldwide, including MoMA, the V&A, and the Stedelijk Museum. The Financial Times calls him a pioneer of "exuberant creativity."
